I tried the technique and it allowed me to be”in the moment” , instead of the past and in the future. Very helpful, it really took the feeling of being overwhelmed away. Can’t wait for next Monday’s talk.

I’m curious if you’ve worked with teens or have any insights into their timeline processing. Time management seems impossible for my sheltered-in-place, distance-learning 16 year old, who seems to have no sense of time or command of it. As I listened to your talk this morning, I wondered if he should do the opposite, and move his timeline closer-in to get some urgency.
I might just try to listen to this talk as a family (if they will) and see what comes up for everyone, but thought I’d ask about your insights first. Take care and thanks for all the programming.

Hi Debbie, I’m glad it helped you! This is a great question and a powerful insight. Yes, compressing the timeline closer to his body will increase his sense of urgency. There’s also another thing you can have him try to do. Some people are always immersed in their timeline. Others can see it out in front of them. Those who can visualize it running across the front of their bodies have a much better sense of time, organization and planning. He might try that too. There’s quite a few other things he can do to increase his motivation but that’s enough for now. Hi Mark! Thanks for sharing this great technique! I have a toolbox full of tools. I forget about the simplest and most effective tools so many times! Thanks for bringing this up for my attention. It’s so weird to me that, with so much LESS to do, I can still psych myself out thinking that I have SO MUCH to do! (The irony!) I’m so excited for my evening meditation to put this in place and feel the difference! I’ll let you know what I feel and observe! <3

Ironically it took me 3 days of having this video queued to watch before I actually just watched it. I have been feeling overwhelmed and like I do not have enough time to complete what I want to do, be creative (careative) I put this back in this way because I noticed how appropriate it seemed. I just stretched out my hour into the future as well as the past and was able to feel immediate relief and relaxation. It is soon time for bed and I have been wanting to quiet my mind earlier to rest and begin my days earlier. Up til now, that has not seemed possible. I already feel I will be able to rest better tonight. I will sure let you know. Also, I have a client whose son is testing tomorrow and struggling with test anxiety and failure. He is feeling like, in his words, “he’s retarded”. Synchronistically he will take his test tomorrow. I already have a session in place but feel he would benefit from this technique as well and will pass it forward. Thank you My Friend. You are a blessing in my life and a gift to our world.
